The billowing airiness of this kimono cools summers just as easily as it makes room for a winter’s huddle or a soft rain. The breathable cotton was hand-dyed in rich tones of our homegrown natural indigo to mimic the movement of raindrops.
from the dyer’s journal
Dyeing with natural colours involves letting nature take its course. The shades are a product of the dye, water’s composition, dyebath’s pH, mordants, type of fabric and weather conditions. This means no two fabrics will have the exact same colours.
